Women face a lot of challenges in the tech space. From pay disparity to lack of representation, women have to fight extra hard to achieve their goals in this industry. Many women get a bit overwhelmed by it and see their determination waver.
For them, Brianne Harvey’s example is one of the most inspiring. She’s a serial tech and hospitality entrepreneur with the goal to give back to the restaurant community she loves and inspire other women, and her daughter in the future to work hard to be whoever they wish to be.
To solve the problem of sourcing quality supplies and equipment globally, Brianne is launching Restaurant Resource, a digital directory for global suppliers, and restaurants don’t have to pay anything to use it.
She’s making an impact in a creative way, doing what she loves, while still being able to enjoy time with her family.
This is her story.
According to the entrepreneur, she had a pretty “normal life”, besides overachieving in everything she wanted to do. She would always get A’s, do extracurricular activities, and she was also a pianist. Seems like her talent started at an early age.
For a talent like that, many would have chose doctor, psychologist or another. When asked what made her end up here,
She said she fell in love with this industry from day one, since the day she worked at her local Rock Bottom Brewery 20 years ago.
Up to date she worked in every position one can think of, and found she loved the IT side of the business the most.
Today she advises some of the best restaurants on systems and IT solutions with her company Break Bread Consulting.
She attributed her success to a few simple habits:
Number one is always work harder and be more driven than anyone else in the room. Number two is she never asked herself whether or not she can succeed. All she has to do is reverse engineer a big goal and work step by step. And finally, have childlike curiosity and build creative thinking to solve big problems.
Brianne hopes her journey can be an inspiration to others to take charge of their career in tech and hospitality, as she did it while still still able to build her own family.
Thus, women who want to make a name for themselves can be confident that they can do it, because Brianne did it, and she only just getting started.
