Carmen DeCharisse’s Fashion House – Creating Timeless and Romantic Designs With Sustainable Fabrics

With the advent of the 21st century, fashion trends have begun to dominate the world more than ever. Not only does it control how people dress, but it also trends in hairstyles, makeup, jewelry, and people’s overall attitude. Take the 1960s as an example; the entire concept of flower power did not only mean flares, tunics, flower garlands, and vibrant colors. Instead, a whole generation of people, young and old, promoted peace, which kept in line with the fashion of that time.

In the last few years, with the rising awareness of environmental issues and climate change, fashion houses have revolutionized fashion into something that has never been done before to help reduce their carbon footprint. That change is in the form of sustainable fabric – fabric that is derived from eco-friendly resources like natural fibers and recycled materials.

DeCarmenAfrik is one of many fashion platforms producing designs that are not only timeless but also use materials that protect the purity of the planet. While she believes in making women feel beautiful when wearing her designs, brand founder Carmen DeCharisse hopes that by creating more sustainable fashion, she is actively inspiring her patrons to make better choices when it comes to the environment.

Another way that helps DeCarmenAfrik cut back on waste is the limited production of its design collections. Most fashion houses create their products in massive bulk orders, leading to the style and design of the clothing to becoming generic. By producing small inventories, DeCarmenAfrik is sure to stand by its sustainability mission.

Carmen’s passion is to celebrate and empower women through luxurious and romantic fashion trends of the African Continent, a goldmine that has yet to be discovered. Her limited collection offers a wide variety of clothing items, including party dresses, evening gowns, casual dresses, blouses, coats, and even hair accessories. Each piece can be fitted and altered according to the buyer’s size, a trait rarely seen even in the most famous fashion houses.

Carmen’s goal for her brand is to inspire females from all around the world. She believes that if someone like her, an unknown person from a small town in the state of Mississippi, can move to a whole different continent and pursue the ultimate dream of starting her fashion brand, anyone can do it. She wants to inspire women everywhere, and encourage them to pursue their goals and aspirations. She feels that when they wear one of her pieces, they should feel confident, beautiful, and bold while thriving in their femininity.
