Uber Eats increased its value proposition by integrating a greater variety of businesses on its platform that go far beyond the traditional restaurant. Currently, users can find in the app stores such as the virtual supermarkets Jetson and La Comprita, even convenience stores such as 24 Market.
The new services have had an important reception within the delivery platform since so far in 2021, these segments have had an increase of 87% specifically in what are supermarkets, convenience stores and pharmacies, the company indicated through written communication.
La Comprita was the most recently added service, which stood out for having increased its sales and achieved positive results since it became available on Uber Eats.
Local businesses are preparing to open their second dispatch branch in August.
Likewise, Andres Fournier, co-founder of Jetson explained, “the way we buy supermarket products has changed. Together (Uber Eats and Jetson) we give the consumer the opportunity to receive their order in less than an hour with low prices. This is something that many consumers still do not perceive, and that is that they do not have to pay any ‘premium’ in prices to receive their order in less than an hour ”.
For his part, Mauro González, general manager of Uber Eats for the Andean and Caribbean region, said that “as a technology company, continuous innovation is part of the DNA of Uber Eats. This in order to be that connection tool that contributes to the growth of local businesses and provides ease, convenience and confidence to the user when acquiring products with the press of a button ”.
The executive also commented that expanding the variety of businesses in the app also represents more opportunities for delivery partners to generate extra profits. This diversification has been possible thanks to the preference of current users and the incorporation of new partners who take advantage of the commercial exposure and the technological tools that the platform offers them to expand their business and reach more clients.
