In today’s fast-paced world, it is rare for people to make time for others. Everyone is busy with their own lives, trying to achieve their goals. Amidst this chaos, some people assist others with their goals. They offer help in ways needed by people around them. For them, guiding others adds to their personal growth as humans.
But how do they do it? Well, it varies from person to person. For Andrea Ross, a stuntwoman and a personal trainer, helping others means making them feel good about themselves, which can be achieved through regular movement. Though she is a stuntwoman in Hollywood, she still uses her expertise in gymnastics and years of physical training as an athlete to guide women on their fitness and self-growth journey.
So she started Live Your Fierce to support women working out to feel better and healthier holistically. It is a fitness company that provides Andrea’s twenty-plus years of coaching experience in sports, personal training, and motivational speaking, all combined to offer online courses. The purpose of starting it was to make women fearless and unlock their potential. It is an intertwining of physical and mindset training on how to treat our bodies right.
For Andrea, movement is crucial to the health of females.
According to Sutter Health, movement or exercise helps women lower their blood pressure and diabetes. It also strengthens their bones and muscles, fighting osteoporosis—a systematic skeletal disorder in which an individual’s bones become weak and brittle, making them vulnerable to fractures. Not only that, but it also helps improve sleep quality. It boosts the idea of self, making us feel more confident in our skin.
However, starting “Live Your Fierce” wasn’t a matter of months; it was years for Andrea. She was an athlete her whole academic life, focusing on wrestling. After graduating, she got to work as a coaching gymnast, which opened multiple opportunities for her.
For Andrea, learning and practicing meant everything. While teaching gymnastics, she also competed in parkour and free running. She was accepting of whatever came her way. She didn’t feel snowed under by the various sports she indulged in; instead, she took them as an opportunity to support movement and become fit. It wasn’t just about a job, career, or awards. It was her passion.
Soon, Andrea started her career as a stuntwoman in Hollywood and was nominated for a UBCP award for best stunt performance.
However, in 2023, she faced a challenging situation when the Writers Guild of America and SAG-AFTRA went on strike due to labor disputes in Hollywood, significantly impacting the television and film industry. But as it is said, tough times never last, but tough people do. The same goes for Andrea; she didn’t just sit back and watch but decided to build her own company. That is when she started Live Your Fierce.
When asked about the motivation behind starting the business, Andrea replied, “I have coached my whole adult life. So, I wanted to help women unlock a new skill or journey. I always wanted to surround myself with badass women, collect our experiences, and level up together. The idea of women thinking they can’t do something to make it possible has always fascinated me. I was just waiting for the right opportunity, and as soon as I got one, I started my online fitness course.”
This way, the program aims to offer forms of exercise that are fun and easy for all women, especially those who have passed their twenties and gone through childbirth, injuries, etc.
The program offers a 12-week online course called Fear to Fearless, a 30-day cartwheel intensive and VIP coaching package with individualized programming.
It aims to help women navigate significant life changes through mindset training and movement practice, including basic acrobatics and body weight exercises. The program promotes realistic fitness goals that are gradual but long-lasting. It focuses on more than just physical health; it also aims to achieve mental stability and soundness through movement.
Andrea believes that “Live Your Fierce” enables women to become confident and feel fearless in their skin.
Hence, movement and exercise are not about looking slim but about feeling good in one’s skin and gaining the strength needed. The core narrative of “Live Your Fierce” is that the movement is a tool for empowering women. It is about having the energy to enjoy our lives and maintain a healthy relationship with food and body image. When we feel confident, we give our best in life, all ready to excel. It is about celebrating womanhood and what our bodies are capable of.
