Dr. Lyn Corbett, a senior executive, educator, and leadership consultant, is known for his innovative strategies to strengthen business, non-profit, and government organizations. Corbett has a Doctoral Degree in Leadership Studies from the University of San Diego and a Master of Arts degree in Public Administration from New York University.
Using his immense knowledge and experience, Corbett has written material and launched a training program called Meta-Manager. He explains the term as a leader within an organization that possesses an explicit awareness of self, others, and the environment in which they find themselves. The main goal behind introducing this training is to improve leadership skills in individuals, to enable them to carry out a task on behalf of the organization and represent it on any platform.
Corbett firmly believes that organizational success is hard to achieve without outstanding leadership skills. Moreover, he is currently editing a book titled “Hope is Not a Strategy: Leadership, Strategy, and Positioning in Health and Human Services.” The book is set to publish by the end of 2022 or early 2023 by Kendall Hunt Publishing.
Among his other achievements, Corbett has also come up with training around becoming a non-profit consultant. This training will help individuals utilize their experience and knowledge to transform communities and bring positive changes.
Through his company platform, The Pivotal Group, Corbett provides executive training that suits clients’ needs and demands. Since its launch in 2013, the company has worked with individuals, business owners, managers, project leaders, and many more. Using their strength-based approach, they help individuals and organizations with strategic thinking and accelerate leadership development. By defining realistic goals for their clients, the company enables them to focus on individual growth and success for their organization.
For his immense hard work and services, Corbett has been awarded the Volunteer of the year award by Office of Assembly member Shirley Webber, California’s 79th Assembly District, California State Assembly, 2020. He was also recognized as Adjunct Faculty Member of the year, University of San Diego, School of Education and Leadership Sciences, 2019.
Being an achiever and following his passion, Corbett aims to increase his credibility and visibility. He wants to be recognized as a thought leader and expert in finding ways to counter challenging situations within a community. Corbett believes that there is always room for improvement; however, he also wants to be recognized as an expert in leadership and leadership development.
